Jannik Sinner was born on August 16, 2001, in San Candido, Italy. He is a professional Italian tennis player.
He has been ranked as high as world No. 9 by the Association Of Tennis Professionals which he achieved in November 2021.
In Men’s Double tennis he has been ranked as world No. 124 which was achieved in September 2021.
Sinner in 2020, won five ATP singles titles and one double becoming the first youngest player to win ATP titles since 2008 after winning the 2020 Sofia Open.
In 2021, he also became the first teenager in ATP 500 champions by winning the 2021 Citi Open.
Sinner at age thirteen decided to give up skiing which was a sport he loved, and football in favour of tennis.
He wanted it over skiing because he craved to compete against an opposition and to have more leeway of error over the path of an entire match.
He also wished to be in an individual sport where he would be entitled to make all of the decisions, an alternative he would not have in a team sport like football.
He also decided to travel away from his family and move to Bordighera on the Italian Riviera to train at the Piatti Tennis Centre under Riccardo Piatti and Massimo Sartori, a conclusion which his parents supported.
At the centre, Sinner lived with the family of Luka Cvjetkovic, one of his coaches.
Before Sinner commenced training in tennis full-time with Piatti, he had been playing only twice a week.
