The Los Angeles Chargers will play the next two seasons at StubHub Center, which is named after the company that allows you to resell the tickets you can’t use or don’t want. It’s a tiny stadium by NFL standards, just 30,000 seats, and so the team thinks it might have an issue with supply not keeping up with demand, creating a situation where tickets become prohibitively expensive on the secondary market.
(Yes, I know the Chargers have been met with a collective shrug in their new Los Angeles home, but it probably won’t be hard to find 30,000 people who want to buy NFL tickets. Stick with me.)
Anyway, the team announced Thursday that it would be cracking down on any season ticket holders who try to resell their seats, saying it reserves “the right to enforce a policy that all season tickets should be used primarily by Season Ticket Members and their personal guests.” In other words, don’t go trying to sell your season ticket packages via services such as StubHub, even though StubHub’s name is on the building.

As pointed out by the Los Angeles Times, full-season Chargers season ticket plans already have hit the secondary market. As of Friday morning, VividSeats was offering one package for $6,000, which is $2,250 more than the most expensive team-offered option.
A quick check of StubHub revealed zero Chargers tickets for sale. Nor are they any available on the NFL Ticket Exchange, the league’s official resale spot.
